I love this article…so, so much. I was the one on Twitter who begged you to post it all. Maybe you already had, but thank you.

I WILL point out one thing, though: Vasectomies are not reversible…successfully. Unfortunately. I wish it weren’t true. This is a false belief and those selling the procedure aren’t being honest. A reversal grants a 20–30% chance of pregnancy. That’s it. They never mention all the scar tissue blockage. I know this because my boyfriend had one and he learned the hard way, first hand, and after researching more, found being sterilized for life is generally the result.

But condoms…yes. He’s a “pro life/pro choice” person. This means he’s pro life for himself but believes others should absolutely have the right to choice as he doesn’t live their life and has no business calling their shots. He hands out condoms to his sons all the time. He’s a Trump voter and evangelical Christian. (I’m not any of this, yet we make it work.) And when I read this to him, he felt it attacked, stereotyped and villainized all men no matter how much I tried to break it down.

So, there are a lot of good guys out there, responsible men who raise responsible sons, and there are more on the right who support choice than we’re led to believe.

Only a small, very vocal, very ignorant minority believe an embryo matters more than the female carrying it. Unfortunately, they won’t understand what this actually IS until their own child is raped and pregnant, I fear. There’s no empathy and they’re not REALLY pro-life if they don’t care about the female.

It’s also incredibly arrogant and egotistical to assume one would have a say in how others may live.

The politicians pushing these laws are those people, or they’re simply doing it as a political move to get ahead. The women who voted on this should be deeply ashamed of themselves. Our mothers and grandmothers for for…DIED for our right to have safe choices. I guarantee if they found their own 11-year-old daughter raped and pregnant, or a family member “in the family way” (as we say in Alabama), they’d arrange a private, quiet abortion on the side faster than you can utter the words “pro life.”

I’m beyond disgusted. But I’m so proud of all the people who are speaking out, marching, writing…women AND men. You are FUCKING AWESOME. Thank you.
