I can’t “like” this enough. I highlighted like my keyboard was having a seizure.

“You complete me” is literally THE WORST LINE IN CINEMATIC HISTORY. I mention this, because that seems to be the way people think…that they’re incomplete without someone around. No.

You complete you. No one else does, no one else can. You should be an awesome, yummy lemon pound cake. And hey…if someone comes along and wants to be that drizzle of sweet icing on top, super cool. But you’re delicious on your own, without anything else necessary.

In America, the emphasis is on the wedding, but not the marriage. We don’t talk about the work, the choices or the compromise. People confuse jealousy for caring instead of realizing its nothing more than attachment. We think happy just happens; we aren’t taught that it’s a perspective we choose and no one makes us that way. Only WE can.

Love is wanting what’s best for someone, even if it isn’t what’s best for you. (Even if it, quite frankly, sucks ass for you.) Love is freedom, not restraint. And yes, love is choosing to love…every day. Choosing to do the right thing, to honor and respect. Thank you for saying that.

Great blog. #YoureRad
